A management system where trees, grass and grazing areas are located together on the same site and foresees to benefit from both resources together. In addition to obtaining wood, trees provide shade and protection for animals, and more animal yield and income can be obtained from grazing areas than similar areas without trees.  In silvopastoral areas, small cattle (sheep, goats) are usually grazed.  Silvi-pastoral systems also make a positive contribution to wildlife, water quality, soil fertility and soil protection from water and wind erosion.
