 Precipitation

As a result of the rise and cooling of the air layer, the moisture in it condenses and falls to the earth as liquid or solid such as snow and hail.

Precipitation can be classified into three groups:

(i) Convectional precipitation;

(ii) Orographic precipitation;

(iii) Frontal (cyclonic) rainfall.

In terrestrial regions, especially in late spring and early summer, the precipitation that occurs with the rise and expansion and cooling of the air on the ground is called "Convectional Precipitation", the precipitation caused by the cooling of the moist air mass by hitting a mountain and rising is called "Orographic Precipitation", and the precipitation formed by the meeting of two different air masses in the low pressure center is called "Frontline Precipitation". The precipitation that occurs at the beginning of summer in Eastern Anatolia and Central Anatolia is convectional, and this precipitation is called "Forty-Afternoon Rainfall" by the people. The precipitation that occurs mostly in coastal areas in winter is the frontal precipitation that occurs when cold air from the north meets hot air from the south.  In summer, especially in the coastal mountains of the Black Sea, the rainfall is orographic.
