 Poverty line

The line that is considered to pass through a certain level of income or consumption, which is considered the limit of poverty. Those with incomes or levels of consumption below this limit are considered poor, and those above it are considered non-poor. The World Bank accepts $38 per person per month and $1.25 per day as the poverty line (2008). However, the poverty line that each country will determine according to its own conditions may be different.
