Growth (in plants)
It is an irreversible increase in the size of a plant. Growth occurs when cells increase in number by dividing, followed by an increase in cell size. Since the cell will be half the size of the main cell when it divides, it is not an event that provides growth on its own, but the process of expanding the main cell size of the dividing cell provides the actual growth.
