Biological productivity
The amount and rate of production that occurs in an ecosystem over a period of time. This can be true for a single organism, a population, entire communities and ecosystems. Efficiency can be expressed as the amount of dry matter or energy produced per unit of time per unit area. In wetlands, the measurement is applied for volume instead of area.
